Invictus 2954

Motion Design

Overview

A cinematic event trailer for Star Citizen’s Invictus Launch Week 2954, an annual in-game celebration where players experience the UEE Naval fleet through ship tours, promotions, competitions, and large-scale sci-fi spectacle. The piece moves away from traditional cinematic storytelling and instead uses abstract visual transitions, shifting scale, and optical alignment to create a seamless conceptual journey.

About the project

For Invictus Launch Week 2954, I helped develop a visual direction built around a scripted poem rather than a conventional trailer structure. The poem became the foundation for the pacing, storyboard logic, and emotional arc of the piece, allowing the sequence to unfold through metaphor, movement, and transformation.

The visual system uses optical alignment, powers-of-ten scale shifts, and shape morphing to create the feeling of one continuous camera move. Forms transition between massive naval scale and intimate abstract detail, giving the trailer a sense of ceremony, momentum, and spatial illusion. The result is a promotional film that treats the event less like a standard fleet showcase and more like a guided visual passage through the world of Star Citizen.
